Go Abroad with SBS

Ready to explore the world? Earn credit for your major while developing lifelong relationships with SBS faculty and fellow students.

"Study abroad has truly been one of the most incredible and transformative experiences in my life. I feel as though being able to fully immerse myself in a new culture has allowed me to grow so much as an individual. This experience has challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and truly pushed me to see the world from a new perspective." ~ Victoria Ciolino, Communication student, Study Abroad in Rome In Spring 2025

Studying abroad while at the University of Arizona allows you to earn U of A credit toward your degrees while gaining global perspectives and critical skills for today's workforce!

Study abroad has been shown to advance your career prospects by increasing your cultural competency and adaptability, language proficiency, and global network building. A survey by NAFSA: Association of International Educators reveals that 97% of study abroad alumni found a job within 12 months of graduation, with 90% securing their first job within six months.

Why Study Abroad in SBS?

SBS students study people, cultures, languages, histories, institutions, and communities. Study abroad brings these subjects to life by allowing students to experience different social, political, economic, and cultural contexts firsthand.

Study abroad allows SBS students to:
•    Gain new perspectives on people, communities, and global issues
•    Apply classroom learning in real-world settings
•    Strengthen research, communication, language, and analytical skills
•    Develop adaptability and cross-cultural skills valued by employers and graduate programs
•    Gain experience through coursework, internships, research, fieldwork, or community engagement

Study abroad helps SBS students build the knowledge, perspective, and professional skills needed to work effectively across cultures and communities.
